Currently, you can only search for conversations and messages in the Status desktop app.

In the Status app, you can search for specific conversations (direct messages, group chats and channels) as well as text within those conversations.

  • The message search function only includes messages in your chat window, including those you can scroll through. Older messages beyond this may not appear.
  • You can search messages in token-gated communities and channels as long as you're a community member with access to the channel.
  • On Status desktop, you can use keyboard shortcuts or the
    Search
    option in the user interface.

You can search for conversations in direct messages, group chats and channels you are part of.

    Anywhere on the Status desktop app, press
    Ctrl + K
    (Windows or Linux) or
    Cmd + K
    (macOS) to open the search bar.

    Enter the name of the direct message, group chat or channel you want to search for.
  3. 3
    From the results list, click the direct message, group chat or channel you want to open.
  4. 4
    Alternatively, you can use the
    Up
    and
    Down
    arrows keys on your keyboard to navigate through the results, and press
    Enter
    to open the selected conversation.

You can search for messages by entering text you remember from the conversation.

    From the conversation you want to search, press
    Ctrl + F
    (Windows or Linux) or
    Cmd + F
    (macOS) to open the search bar.

    Enter the text you want to search for.

    Alternatively, you can click
    Search
    at the top of the content area to open the search bar.
tip
From the search bar, click the
Drop down
to choose another conversation, or select
Anywhere
to search all conversations.
