The Status app is currently in beta. This means the app is still undergoing active development, and certain features described in this document may function differently or be unavailable in the app.
A direct message chat (or DM, for short) is a private chat between you and another person. In Status, you can send direct messages to people on your contact list. If the person is not your contact yet, send a contact request first.
- 1From the tab bar, tapMessages.
- 2SelectContacts.
- 3Tap the person you want to chat with and start sending messages.
In direct messages, you can send text messages, images, GIFs, stickers and audio messages. You can also format, edit and delete your messages.
