Import an account into your Status Wallet

Status app is currently in beta stage
The Status app is currently in its beta stage. This means the application is still undergoing active development, and certain features described in this document may function differently or be unavailable within the app.

To use your existing wallet account with Status Wallet, import either your recovery phrase or private key. Both options are valid and retrieve the same account for you.

    From the tab bar, tap
    Wallet
    .

    Swipe left across the accounts until you reach the end, then tap
    Add
     >
    Add account

    Under
    Origin
    , tap
    Add
     >
    Import using recovery phrase

    Type or paste your recovery phrase into the field and tap
    Continue

    Set a name for this key and tap
    Continue
    . This name is only visible to you.

    Choose a name and a highlight colour for your account. These are only visible to you. Swipe to create your account.
caution
Keep your recovery phrase safe and never share it with anyone. Status will never ask you for this information, and anyone who does is trying to steal your profile and wallet funds.

A private key is a string of letters and numbers that allows you to access and manage your crypto.

    Click your profile picture under
    Origin
    . Under
    Import new
    , select
    Add new master key
    .

    Import private key
    .

    Paste your private key into the field.

    Set a name for this key and click
    Continue
    . This name is only visible to you.

Keycard is a hardware wallet you can use with your Status app for extra security. For more details, check out Keycard: your quick start guide.

    Plug in your Keycard reader and insert your Keycard. Enter your Keycard PIN and click

    Name account

     in case you have multiple accounts on this Keycard).

    Choose a name, an account emoji and a highlight colour for your account (or accounts). These are only visible to you. Once you're done, click
    Finalise import
