Customize group chat notifications

You can choose which message and mention notifications you want to receive for any group chat. This allows to display only the notifications that are relevant to you.

    From the tab bar, tap
    Messages
    .
  2. 2
    Long press the group chat you want to mute.
  3. 3
    Tap
    Mute
    .
  4. 4
    Select the length of time you'd like to mute your notifications.
tip
When you mute notifications for a group chat, it appears greyed with a Muted icon.

To avoid missing important messages, you can mute some notifications. Here's how to mute all group chat notifications except personal mentions.

    From the tab bar, tap
    Messages
    .

    Long press the group chat you want to mute.
  3. 3
    Tap
    Notifications
    .
  4. 4
    Select
    Global mentions
     >
    Notifications off
    .
  5. 5
    Select
    All other messages
     >
    Notifications off
    .

    Verify
    Personal mentions
     is set to
    On
    . If it is not, select
    Personal mentions
     >
    Notifications on
    .

    Scroll down the list of settings and tap
    Notifications

    Select
    Group chats
     >
    Your default notification settings

    Turn off
    Personal mentions
    ,
    Global mentions
     and
    All other messages
    .
