Status app is currently in beta stage
The Status app is currently in its beta stage. This means the application is still undergoing active development, and certain features described in this document may function differently or be unavailable within the app.

You can import a Status Community that someone shares with you using the community link, QR code or public key. Importing a community can be helpful when you want to join a private community that is not listed in the communities Discover page.

You have three options to import a Status Community.

Community public keyImport the key using the Status app to find the community you want to join.Mobile and desktop

Use the community link, QR code or public key to find and import the community you're interested in. The community link contains the community public key at the end. For example, for the community link https://status.app/cc/G8gAA[...]dy9L9, the public key is G8gAA[...]dy9L9.

tip
The community link contains the community public key at the end, so you don't have to type it in.

To import the community, ask the person sharing the community to send you the link or show you the QR code.

    If you receive the community link, tap the link to open the community page.

    If you receive the community QR code or public key, follow these steps:

      From the tab bar, tap
      Communities
      .

      From the top navigation, tap
      Scan
       and scan the QR code.
    Community public key

      From the tab bar, tap
      Communities
      .

      Tap
      Add
       >
      Import community
      .

      In the
      Community key
       text field, enter the community link or public key.

      Verify the community you're about to import and tap
      Import community
      .

    Review the information in the community page and tap
    Join Community
    .

After opening the link or scanning the QR code, you can install Status if you haven't already.
