Status is the controller of the personal data it collects in connection with its recruiting and hiring processes, as well as with data processors engaged by Status to help manage those processes. Once you submit your application, your personal data will be transferred and stored on Greenhouse Software (“Greenhouse”), which is located in New York, United States of America. On 10 July 2023, the European Commission adopted its adequacy decision for the EU-U.S. data privacy framework, which means that they have decided that the United States can ensure an adequate level of protection, comparable to the European Union. As such, personal data can now flow safely from the EU to the US without having to put in place additional safeguards.
Your personal data will be retained by Status on Greenhouse as long as Status determines it’s necessary to evaluate your application to be a Core Contributor at Status. Under the GDPR, you have certain rights, such as the right to request: 1) access to your personal data, 2) that your personal data be updated or erased, and 3) that processing of your personal data be restricted. You also have the right to data portability, and you may lodge a complaint with an EU supervisory authority accordingly.
Privacy is one of our core values and critical to our success, so, according to article 9 of GDPR, Status does not request from you or process any kind of special categories of personal data. Therefore such special categories of personal data will not in any way be used in Status’ decision to engage you as a Core Contributor.
