Status Connector is a browser extension that you can use to securely connect to decentralized applications (dApps) directly from your desktop browser.

Status Connector is an extension developed and provided by Status that works with the Status desktop Wallet. To install it, check out Install the Status Connector extension.

Decentralized applications (also known as dApps, Dapps or web3 apps) are applications running on a blockchain network, such as Ethereum. Using dApps and your Status Wallet, you can interact with decentralized finance (DeFi), games, social networks and other blockchain-based services.

In addition to the Status Connector, you can connect to dApps using WalletConnect on Status desktop and mobile.

  • You can configure the Status Connector extension as the default wallet for your browser. To do this, click the extension and enable the
    Set as default wallet
    option.
  • If you want to connect to a dApp using other wallets in your browser, disable the Status Connector extension as the default wallet.
  • To administer your connected dApps, use the Status desktop app. For more information, check out Administer your Wallet dApp connections.

    Using your computer, open Status desktop if it's not already open.

    Open the web browser and navigate to the dApp you wish to connect to.

    If Status Connector is the default wallet for your browser, the extension automatically requests to connect to your Status desktop app. If this is not the case, click
    Connect
    ,
    Connect Wallet
    or any similar option on the dApp website and choose
    Status
    .

    In the Status desktop dApp connection dialog, choose the Status Wallet account you wish to
    Connect with
    and click
    Connect
    .

    If the connection is successful, you can see
    Connected
    in the dApp connection dialog. Click
    Close
    and continue on the dApp website.

    Refresh the dApp page if necessary.
