Organize channels using categories

You can only manage channel categories using Status desktop.

Channel categories help community members locate channels in your community. If you are a community Owner, Admin or TokenMaster, you can create, edit, delete, and reorder categories as needed.

  • You can assign permissions to channels, but not to categories.
  • To move a channel to a different category, first remove it from its current category, then add it to the new one.
  • If you delete a category, its channels automatically go to the top of all categories as uncategorized channels.

    From the navigation sidebar, click the community where you want to create a channel category.

    Right-click anywhere in the channel sidebar and click
    Create category
    .

    Enter a category title and select the channels in this category.

    Create

    From the navigation sidebar, click the community where you want to edit a channel category.
  2. 2
    Right-click the category and then click
    Edit category
    .
  3. 3
    Type a new title if you want to change the category title.
  4. 4
    Select the channels you want to move to this category or deselect channels to move them out of the category.

    Click
    Save

    From the navigation sidebar, click the community where you want to reorder categories.

    Click and hold the category you want to reorder.
  3. 3
    Drag the category to your desired location.

    From the navigation sidebar, click the community where you want to delete a channel category.
  2. 2
    Right-click the category and then click
    Delete category
    .

    Click
    Confirm
