info
You can only use Keycard on the Status desktop app.

When you create a Status Wallet account using a Keycard, you store the key pair on the Keycard rather than on your device, protecting them from potential hackers. If you don't have a Keycard, you can order one

.

A single Keycard can hold one master key pair, but you can create multiple Wallet accounts.

  • You need a card reader to connect a Keycard to your computer.
  • Once you create a Wallet account using a Keycard, you must use the Keycard to confirm transactions for this account.
  • You can find and use the account in your Status Wallet.
  • If you want to generate a new recovery phrase or master key pair for your Wallet account, you need an empty Keycard. If your Keycard is not new, check which wallet keys are on it and factory reset it when needed.

When you use an empty Keycard to create a Status Wallet account, the Status app generates a new recovery phrase and master key pair for the account.
